NOAA’s Fisheries Service proposes regulations to lift restrictive
trade measures in response to recommendations adopted by the ICCAT during
the 2004 meeting. This proposed rule would modify the following trade
restrictions:
- Lift the trade restrictive measures on importing bigeye tuna from
Cambodia;
- Lift the trade restrictive measures on importing bigeye tuna and
bluefin tuna from Equatorial Guinea; and
- Lift the trade restrictive measures on importing bigeye tuna,
bluefin tuna, and swordfish from Sierra Leone.
The comment period for this proposed rule
is open for 30 days and will close on April 7, 2005.
NMFS will hold one public hearing to receive comments from fishery
participants and other members of the public regarding these proposed
amendments. It is scheduled for March 21,
2005, from 2:45 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the:
