THE RESULTS The Pete Turner Memorial Fishing Tournament was a huge success this weekend with great weather, large cash payouts, it’s first billfish caught and released in the nearshore division and a IGFA world record fish caught. This year the Kiwanis Club of Palmetto handed out $25,075 in cash prizes, along with much merchandise. They also auctioned off framed prints by Guy Harvey and Cary Chen, a live-well from Wagner Power Boats and various items from Gold Coast Eagle Distributing and others. Inshore

The Junior division came in with some impressive catches as usual.
2nd Place and $275.00 along with prizes went to Team Sign Zoo, captained Ryan Shannon and included Nick Ross, Charlie Woodson & Gary McGregor. The Trash Can Slam which was sponsored by Popi’s Restaurants paid out $500 to Capt. Ashley Grant and her team for their “outstanding” catch of a 24” catfish, a stingray and a 24” ladyfish. 2nd place and $300 went to the junior team “Wild ‘n Out for their 22” catfish, 26” jack and a 16” Ladyfish. 3rd place and $200 went to Capt. Daniel Patterson and his team for their catch of a 20” catfish, 25” jack and a 16” ladyfish 1st Place: Capt. Chase Gause 505 Points 2nd Place: Capt. Ryan Shannon 456 Points 3rd Place: Capt.
